A FORMER BBC DG'S LEADERSHIP LESSONS
From Allan Leighton's 2007 book "On Leadership", the then DG of the BBC, Mark Thompson, supplied these "leadership lessons":
* Constantly tell the story about the vision to anyone who will listen
* Keep half a pace ahead of events rather than half a pace behind. Once you get behind, it is difficult to catch up.
* If you take a knock, pick yourself up quickly. It is not the hit, but your reaction and recovery time which will make a difference.
I wonder if these words are framed and hung on a BBC wall!
