JINGLE TILLS, JINGLE TILLS, JINGLE ALL THE WAY

There are noises that some retailers are cutting payroll or, ahem, streamlining store staffing, possibly affecting peak trading up to and through Christmas.  This means longer and slower queues!

From my book Rolling In The Aisles, poking fun at shops, shoppers and shopping (available here: http://www.feedaread.com/books/Rolling-In-The-Aisles-9781784070632.aspx )
 - on the count of three.....

JINGLE TILLS

Jingle tills, jingle tills, jingle all the way,
What a drudge it is to shop
For the perfect Christmas day.
Oh, jingle tills, jingle tills,
Jingle all the way,
We queue for yonks
For the shops seem keen
To make it hard to pay.

Standing at the tills in the supermarket store,
We scratch our heads and wish
They’d open several more.
The supervisors dash
Like crazy blue-bum flies
But not much seems to happen
So we wait with tuts and sighs.

Jingle tills, jingle tills, jingle all the way,
What a drudge it is to shop
For the perfect Christmas day.
Oh, jingle tills, jingle tills,
Jingle all the way,
We queue for yonks
‘Cos the shops seem keen
To make it hard to pay.
